2024 Projects Yearly Summary
Alhamdulillah, with your generous support, Benefits for Ummah continued serving vulnerable families and communities throughout 2024.
Since 2020, our monthly 10 kg Rice Project has provided essential food assistance to families struggling with poverty and hunger. Alongside this ongoing programme, we carried out several humanitarian initiatives in 2024, including Ramadan food distribution, emergency flood and cyclone relief, clean-water projects, orphan support, women’s empowerment, medical assistance, education support, housing reconstruction, and community services in the United States.

Monthly 10 kg Rice Project
Our 10 kg Rice Project has continued every month since 2020.
Through this programme, we distribute approximately 1,000 kg of rice to 100 vulnerable families each month. The beneficiaries include widows, divorced women, elderly people, individuals unable to work, orphans, and families struggling to provide regular meals for their children.
For many of these families, this monthly food assistance offers much-needed relief and helps reduce the worry of putting food on the table.
Ramadan 2024 Food Package Programme
During the blessed month of Ramadan, we distributed essential food packages to families facing financial hardship.
The packages helped families prepare meals for Sehri and Iftar with greater dignity and peace of mind. Your support allowed vulnerable households to experience the blessings of Ramadan without the constant fear of hunger.
Feeding Homeless People
As part of our food assistance efforts, our volunteers distributed chicken biryani meal boxes to homeless and vulnerable people living near railway stations and in underserved communities.
For someone living without a stable home or regular income, a warm meal can provide both immediate nourishment and the comforting reminder that they have not been forgotten.
Emergency Response to Cyclone Remal
Cyclone Remal caused severe destruction across the coastal islands of Bangladesh. Many families in Char Fasson, Bhola, lost their homes, belongings, and sources of income.
Benefits for Ummah volunteers travelled to several remote coastal areas to deliver emergency food, medicine, and essential supplies to affected families.
Reaching these isolated communities was challenging, but your support enabled our teams to stand beside families during one of the most difficult periods of their lives.
Qurbani for All 2024
Following the destruction caused by Cyclone Remal, Benefits for Ummah arranged its 2024 Qurbani programme for vulnerable families in affected coastal communities.
Fresh Qurbani meat was distributed among families who had lost their homes, livelihoods, and financial security. For many children and adults, it was their first opportunity in years to enjoy fresh meat during Eid al-Adha.
Your Qurbani brought nourishment, dignity, and happiness to families who had experienced tremendous loss.
Flood Relief in Sylhet
Severe flooding affected families in the Goarchhara and Solurgaon areas of Sylhet, damaging homes, livelihoods, and essential resources.
Our team delivered food aid, medicines, and emergency supplies to more than 300 affected families.
This assistance helped families meet their immediate needs while they began recovering from the devastating effects of the floods.
Clean Water Project
Access to safe drinking water remains a serious challenge in many underserved communities.
During 2024, Benefits for Ummah installed tube wells in several locations across Cumilla, Chattogram, and the coastal areas of Bhola.
These water sources will benefit hundreds of families by providing reliable access to clean water for drinking, cooking, and daily household needs.
Each tube well represents more than a water source. It helps protect health, reduces the burden of collecting water, and supports the entire community for years to come.
Response to the Historic Floods in Bangladesh
The historic floods in Bangladesh affected millions of people, leaving many families trapped inside their homes without food, clean water, or medicine.
Benefits for Ummah volunteer groups worked in several affected areas with logistical assistance from the Bangladesh Army.
Our volunteers travelled from house to house, searching for stranded families and delivering food and other essential supplies to people who could not safely leave their homes.
Flood Relief in Sherpur, Lalmonirhat, and Kurigram
Flooding in Sherpur, Lalmonirhat, and Kurigram left many communities isolated and in urgent need of support.
Our volunteers reached affected households directly, providing food, medicine, and essential assistance to families stranded by rising water.
The dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our donors allowed help to reach people in remote and severely affected locations.
Rebuilding Homes and Livelihoods After the Floods
Emergency relief is essential during a disaster, but many families continue struggling long after the floodwater disappears.
Our volunteer team worked in the south-eastern districts of Bangladesh to rebuild homes for flood-affected families. We also supported families as they began restoring their livelihoods and returning to a more stable life.
Our goal was not only to help families survive the immediate crisis, but also to give them the opportunity to rebuild with dignity and hope.
Benefits for Ummah Social Service USA
Some Muslim brothers and sisters within our local communities in the United States face financial hardship, food insecurity, and other daily challenges.
To respond to these needs, we launched the Benefits for Ummah Social Service USA programme.
This initiative focuses on supporting vulnerable individuals and families within our local community through practical assistance, essential resources, and compassionate care.
